Design Decision/Approach: My decision on the topic for the Project Plan was after I spoke to my leadership team and determined a department wide need for a better leadership plan. My Assistant Vice President, after having multiple lunch and learn, educational engagement presentations, and get-to-know you breakfast meetings, noticed specifically that individuals main complaints were that there were not enough leadership opportunities within and outside of the department. With that, we decided to create a leadership program for high achieving individuals within the department to help them build leadership skills and potentially obtain a permanent leadership position within the department. The program will consist of training workshops, shadowing and mentoring from current leadership, and leadership rotation that allows for the participants to rotate into different leadership within the five different subsections in the department. This will allow for more exposure for the participants to decide where they believe they fit most and have an input on their own leadership journey.
The end goal for this program is potentially to expose the program to the rest of the company so that there are more opportunities for advancement. This also allow for cross collaboration of departments and engagement. |
