About MeI was born in Virginia and have lived here all my life. I moved to Harrisonburg when I was 9 years old. When I was ready for college, there were many options, however, as soon as I walked on to James Madison University campus, I knew it was where I wanted to spend the next several years of my life as a college student. JMU had everything a student could want such as a great education and a true college experience where I could meet people and build relationships. One other benefit was that I would be close to home. I graduated from JMU in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Anthropology.
After college, I went through a whole series of positions before finding my passion in life. I wanted to learn and teach but not directly. It led me to Educational Technology and Instructional Design. As I have progressed in the Masters of Education in Educational Technology program, I realize that there is more than just providing instruction. It’s how you go about creating that instruction and it has been a very rewarding experience. So much so that I started to actually do it for a living. |
My husband, Brian, my son, Teddy, and my dog Molly (she is a 100lb mastiff mix), encourages me daily to continue on my path of Educational Technology and Instructional Design. As a family, we enjoy photography, the outdoors, and traveling among other things. We have visited many different countries where we are able to continue on with photography and learning. My travels throughout the year has allowed for my inner Anthropologist and Instructional Designer to shine where I would be able to incorporate culture and the understanding of culture into everything that I create.
